Women’s Day 2026 is the occasion to praise innovation, leadership and the great women who are shaping industries across countries. The world of architecture and interior design has witnessed a marvellous influence by several brilliant Indian Female interior designers who turn spaces into artworks.
At Yak Carpet, we think that most of the present-day great visions are being spearheaded by extraordinary women designers. In the restoration of heritage buildings, luxury residential design, these women are getting redefined with regard to how we experience spaces.

Pallavi Dean – Founder, Design by Roar

Dubai-based architect Pallavi Dean is the creative force behind Design by Roar, an architecture and interior design studio known for delivering innovative projects across the Middle East and beyond. Since its establishment in 2013, the studio has completed over 350 projects, including retail spaces, high-end residential, offices, and hospitality destinations.
Her work is characterised by close attention to innovation, creativity, and human-centred design, which has contributed to the transformation of modern interiors.

Nina Puri – Founder, Nina Puri Architects

Nina Puri is a respected designer among Indian designers, and the image of her making interiors that are simple yet luxurious has resulted in wonders for her reputation. Her design philosophy is based on clean lines and rich textures, materials, and colours.
Having decades of experience in residential and commercial design, Nina Puri Architects has been producing spaces that are a perfect manifestation of aesthetic beauty as well as client personality.

Shabnam Gupta – Founder, The Orange Lane

One of India’s most recognisable interior designers, Shabnam Gupta, founded The Orange Lane in 2003. Her design style is reputed to be high-end, artistic and unique with projects of luxury homes, corporate offices and hospitality areas.
Another result of her creative path is the establishment of Peacock Life, the brand that takes pride in its offbeat furniture and decor collections that capture her wild design philosophy.

Sarah Sham – Principal Designer, Essajees Atelier

Sarah Sham is the principal designer behind Essajees Atelier, a Mumbai-based interior design studio that blends heritage craftsmanship with contemporary design. The studio was established on the legacy of her family business, which is 130 years old, with antique business experience and has completed 130+ projects in 18 cities.
Her design strategies assume that no project is the same, and so every space is special and specific to the lifestyle of the client.

Iram Sultan – Founder, Iram Sultan Design Studio

She creates spaces with her central theme that are comfortable, happy and deeply human.

Natasha N Kochhar – Principal Architect, LTDF Studio

With nearly two decades of experience in interior architecture and design, Natasha Kochhar leads LTDF Studio with a collaborative and strategic design approach.
She thinks that co-creation between the architect, the client, and the space itself gives the best design results, and they would create personalised environments that would really represent the vision of the user.

Abha Narain Lambah – Founder, Abha Narain Lambah Associates

Her firm undertakes museum design, historic interiors and conservation projects through which she preserves stories of the past contained in old buildings.
The fact that architecture is not only about buildings, but also about culture and history, as well as collective memory, is a reminder of her work.
